About Monolord

Monolord is a Swedish stoner-doom/sludge band formed in 2013 in Gothenburg by Thomas V. Jäger (vocals/guitar), Mika Häkki (bass), and Esben Willems (drums). Known for massive, slow riffs, clear Ozzy-like vocals, and a hypnotic oppressive atmosphere. Hits include “Empress Rising,” “Rust,” “Larvae,” and “The Bastard Son.” Signed to Relapse Records, their latest full album is Your Time to Shine (2021). Their album No Comfort (2019) reached #20 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart, and they’ve collaborated with members of bands like Beastmaker and Mondo Drag on Rust.
